![]() | Carmen Barandela Senior Manager, RegTech Data & Innovation, Bank of England Prudential Regulation Authority Carmen has over 15 years experience in Technology and holds and MBA and a MSc in Computer Science. Carmen started her career in Nuclear Physics Research. For over a decade she collaborated with Physicist and Engineers looking for the Higgs Boson by developing cutting edge applications to process the data that finally detected the patterns that led to the Higgs discovery. After 5 yeas in Technology, Carmen was part of the team that evaluated the technological feasibility of the digital pound, where Carmen led the work on designing an API layer that could enable the settlement of digital pound transactions. Recently Carmen has joined the RegTech Data and Innovation Division where she is responsible for the delivery of the RegTech strategy. Carmen is also responsible for driving the external engagement with other organizations to gain a better understanding of the developments in the Data and RegTech space. | |
![]() | Johannes Turner Director of the Department of Statistics, Oesterreichische Nationalbank Johannes Turner is Director of the Statistics Department of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), which is in charge of compiling and analyzing monetary, interest rate, supervisory and external statistics, of maintaining Austria’s Central Credit Register and of generating company ratings. He is a member of the ESCB Statistics Committee (STC) and Austrian representative on the Committee on Monetary, Financial and Balance of Payments Statistics (CMFB) in Luxembourg. Since 2019 he has been president of the European Committee of the Central Balance-Sheet Data Offices (ECCBSO). He is a member of the European Recovery Program (ERP) Audit Committee and an Advisory Board Member of the Statistics Council at Statistics Austria, since 2020 chair of the quality committee of the Statistics Council Austria. In 2019/2020, he chaired the Task Force from Micro to Macro and from Macro to Micro data, which aims at enhancing the classification of the large volumes of available microdata to allow for better data utilization. |
